After a scroll through the archives I decided to pick my top blog post's of the year and combine them all into one round up post for any new readers or for someone thats interested in my personal highlights.

WRAP IT UP: FESTIVE EDITION.

It is just under a week until the big day is upon us and I am guessing that by now most people will be done with their frantic Christmas shopping. With only 6 days to go I thought it was about time that I shared this years gift wrap for any of you still with piles of presents waiting to be wrapped.

GINGERBREAD TREE DECORATIONS.

I don't think that the run up to Christmas is complete without some gingerbread in your life. With that in mind I wanted to create a super festive centrepiece perfect for any upcoming Christmas parties. To do this I decided to create my own decorations out of gingerbread to adorn my twig tree from Hobbycraft

DIY: PAPER STAR DECORATIONS.

I don't know about you but I seem to have an ever growing pile of craft and DIY projects all over the place at this time of year. As someone who always strives to spend as little as possible on Christmas (having your boyfriends birthday, Christmas and anniversary within 3 weeks of each other is not kind to the bank balance), combined with the fact that I genuinely love creating things it comes as no surprise that making my own Christmas decorations and gifts just comes naturally to me.

DIY: CHIRTSMAS WREATH.

Considering this will be the sixth Christmas that I have celebrated in my own home I have never owned let alone attempted to make my own Christmas wreath before. A given that is mainly due to the fact that I live in an apartment and wreath would be wasted on my dimly light communal hallway but this year I decided I did not want to miss out on the tradition so now this homemade wreath is perched upon a shelf in my living room.

CHRISTMAS WISH LIST 2014.

The internet is absolutely rife with gift guides right about now so rather than telling you what I think you should be buying for your loved ones this Christmas I thought it might be fun to round up all of all the things that are currently on my wish list in the hope that they offer you some inspiration.

DIY: FOUR FESTIVE GIFT TAGS.

Oh, Hello there! Chances are you where not expecting to see a new blog post from me today but I have some pretty exciting news to share. After sitting down and planning all my blog posts for the upcoming month I noticed a slight problem in the fact that I had a lot more that I wanted to share with you all than would fit into my current weekly schedule. As a result of this I have decided to up my blogging game and create double the content for you over the festive period and you never know, if all goes well this may be a regular occurrence!

DIY: ALTERNATIVE ADVENT CALENDER.

Advent calendars are not what they used to be when I was a young child, no longer do you just get some poor quality chocolate shaped into a deformed snowman hidden behind a cardboard door. It feels like every brand is bringing them out with their own spin on them whether that be beauty, candles or even Lego. This is great and I for one am a huge fan of The Body Shop advent calendar but costing a whopping £50 they are a pretty substantial gift in themselves and not really about enjoying the run up to Christmas.

FLOW 2015 DIARY.

I hate to break it to you all, but it is getting to that time of year again. The time of year where the sun sets before 5pm and frost is settling on the ground, but most of all it is time to start looking for a dairy for 2015. I thought that as last years Flow weekly notebook 2014 blog post still reigns high in my most popular ever blog posts that you guys might just so happen to be interested in seeing what Flow have to offer us this year in the form of their new diary for 2015.

With that in mind I thought it was about time that I shared some of my favourite places to pick up craft supplies with you.

COFFEE & WALNUT CAKE.

What is going on with me lately? Every cake that I appear to be baking recently is super old school and nothing new to the party but a firm favourite in my eyes none the less. Last up on the blog we had Carrot Cupcakes and now I am back with another traditional recipe in the form of this delectable Coffee and Walnut cake.

DIY: NO CARVE PUMPKINS.

Let me just start off here by telling you that the large copper and white striped pumpkin you see before you is undoubtably the largest pumpkin I have ever seen in my entire life. For reference, the white pumpkin to the left is the size of a regular pumpkin... so yeah, a monster. When the boyfriend walked through the door after picking it up from the local market I instantly couldn't bare the thought of having to carve into that monstrosity so started looking around for some alternative ideas on how to suitably decorate it for the season.

SNIPPETS OF MY HOME - THE DRESSING TABLE.

uk-lifesyle-decor-blog

Today marks the start of a whole new series of blog posts, snippets of my home. I have been wanting to share parts of my home on my blog for a long time but I have always been in a moral quandary over not feeling comfortable sharing every inch of my home with the world wide web but also wanting to introduce more home decor posts onto my beloved blog. So that means my decor posts shouldn't go out of the window right? Exactly, so although I may not be comfortable sharing "room tours" with you all I am more than happy to share snippets of my home so that you can get some idea of what I like and how I do things when it comes to interior decorating. Exciting times to come!

First of all, let me introduce you to yet another of the furry felines that reside in my home, this little beauty is called Daisy. There has already been a brief introduction to Poppy last year but besides that these little tykes rarely get a mention on the blog despite being a huge part of my day to day life.

DIY: FEATHER GIFT TAGS.

I have what feels like a million birthdays coming up in my calendar over the next few months so I have been trying to come up with a few creative ideas on how to wrap the impending birthday gifts. Any regular readers will be aware by now that I tend to wrap everything in brown parcel paper and then customise them accordingly. After a quick inspiration search on Pinterest I came across paper feathers being used to decorate gifts and loved the look of it so decided to follow that theme and raid my craft supplies.

ladylikelen

Today I am sharing with you one of my old favourite cupcake recipes that has been in my recipe folder for years now. I don't think I have ever came across a single person who does not like carrot cake and as they make great alternative to buttercream laden cupcakes I always find myself coming back to this classic recipe time after time.

BEST INTERIOR E-RETAILERS.

I have been living in my own home for over 5 years now and in that time I have decorated on many occasions meaning that sometimes I can spend what feels like a lifetime trudging through the high street looking to furniture to decorate my home. One thing I quickly learnt is that if you want anything remotely out of the ordinary (I am looking at you shabby chic) you have to step away from the store catalogues and either search the depths of the country for quirky independent stores or turn to our saviour that is the internet.

WHAT'S IN MY HANDBAG?

I have meaning to do this post since I started blogging back in the beginning of 2013. For me they are one of my favourite kind of post's to read cause hell, we all love a good nose around peoples handbags. For me these items are the bare essentials of my handbag, sunglasses, gloves and umbrellas make a seasonal appearance but these are the items that come along with me wherever I go.

DIY: OMBRÈ STORAGE UNIT.

Living in a city centre apartment most certainly does have its advantages but when its comes to up cycling any kind of furniture they are not ideal. I do not have a private garden to cover in dust sheets and spray paint and when my 2 bedroom apartment only comprises of 5 actual rooms I don't even really have the space indoors to lock off a room and turn it into a paint shop. With that in mind I am always reluctant to buy any old furniture even if it is full to the brim with potential but that doesn't mean I don't have the urge to transform some of the smaller pieces of furniture I have floating around my home.

FUJIFILM INSTAX SHARE SMARTPHONE PRINTER.

ladylikelen-blog

Oh yeah, you did just read that title correctly! With the ever growing popularity of the Fujifilm Instax instant cameras it came as no surprise really that the company would want to extend the range and make the most out of current revival in instant photography. This time though the brains behind Fujifilm have really stepped it up a gear and instead of making another variation of their already extremely popular cameras they have branched out into printers, smartphone printers none the less!

BLOOM & WILD FLOWER SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE.

Today I am sharing with you possibly one of the best discoveries I have made so far in 2014. Monthly beauty boxes and other subscription based companies are becoming pretty common now days and I myself had given in to the hype and had accumulated far too many mini beauty products and a plentiful supply of nuts and seeds. After being a religious subscriber to beauty boxes last year I decided to cancel my subscription in the beginning of this year as I just had no use for half of the items I was receiving and ended up just passing them on to family and friends making the whole experience a waste of money for me.

KIKO GLASS PICTURE FRAMES.

ladylikelen

I have had these amazing zinc and glass Kiko picture frames in my possession for well over a year now but until recently they kept being moved from room to room until I found the perfect spot for them.  Unfortunately for me that specific spot happens to be right next to the only window in the room so photographing them in situ has been near impossible. Yet here we are with photographs thanks to the power of a white mount board and photographing things on your floor.

THE POWER OF "TAKING FIVE".

Apologies if photographs of smoking offends anyone out there but I just wanted to hop on here quickly and remind both you and I that there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking a break, stepping back and gaining a little clarity. Whether that is from work, from family, from friends or even your blog.

KATE SPADE IPHONE 5S CASE.

uk-lifestyle-blogger
I recently renewed my phone contract and upgraded from my old faithful iPhone 4s to the latest iPhone 5s. With all the excitement that comes with a new phone I was a little sad to have to part ways with all of my old cases as they no longer fit on the new device. With that in mind I started on the hunt for a new case as soon as my new phone arrived and ended up going right back to the place the phone came from, Apple.

ELEGANT TOUCH TREND ABSTRACT NAILS.

Despite being a huge fan of nail art and someone who is not afraid to get out a paint brush in an attempt to adorn my manicure, sometimes I just simply cannot be bothered with all the messing around and the huge wait time between layers. Having quite naturally strong and long nails myself I very rarely wear false nails unless they have a design on them I don't think I could replicate myself. I have a few nail art designs in my repertoire but I do not think any human could possibly be able to replicate this amazing abstract pattern on a nail without the help of some falsies or nail wraps.

DIY: CACTI & SUCCULENT TERRARIUM.

uk-diy-lifestyle-blog

Houseplants are a huge trend right now and are currently all over the internet and glossy decor magazines. Rightly so in my opinion, not only do they make a beautiful decorative item but they add a  real element of life to a room without having to go out and purchase a bunch of fresh flowers every week. With houseplants and cacti being highly popular right now it comes as no surprise that terrariums are also having a moment in the spotlight as they are such a great way of bringing the outside indoors.

RECIPE: MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO.

homemade-iced-coffee-mocha

Despite the wet climate we are currently experiencing here in the UK I refuse to give into the umbrellas and continue to indulge in some of my favourites summer activities no mater what the weather man says! One of my guilty pleasures in the summer is iced coffees and I would happily drink them daily if they weren't usually so high in price and full to the brim with calories. With a large mocha frappuccino from your high street coffee company coming in at a whopping 500 calories I took it upon myself to find an at home alternative and I think I may well have cracked it with this recipe that comes in at under 300 calories.

NO NAILS GALLERY WALL.

home-decor-gallery-wall
After living in my own home for the past 5 years I have learnt a lot about being a home owner and all things decor but the biggest thing I have learnt is that I will never be 100% happy with a space and that is okay. It's okay because I am 23 years old and my taste and interests are always changing and I want a home that reflects that.

I do on another hand have a list of DIYs stashed away in my brain waiting for the perfect opportunity and I thought that an Easter cake would be an ideal way to showcase this lovely spring bunting cake topper.

LOMOGRAPHY POP 9 CAMERA.

uk-lifestyle-blog

Once upon a time, way back in 2007, I used to study photography at college and have always had a little bit of a thing with collecting cameras. Of course in the modern world that we live in majority of the photographs that I take are digital and I have no problem with that, I love my iPhone and Canon as much as anyone but theres something about film that a digital camera just can't quite achieve. With that in mind over the years I have built up quite a camera collection and today I wanted to share with you the latest member of the family, the POP 9.

RECIPE: BLUEBERRY JAM JAR CHEESECAKE.

I truly love cooking but one thing I hate in regards to recipes is that they are usually for a family of 4 or enough cake to feed the five thousand. As I currently live with my boyfriend and our 2 cats recipes for large numbers are hardly ever required in my household and having to half things constantly is just darn right annoying. This is where this little recipe comes into its own, 2 jam jar blueberry cheesecakes, meaning that I can rustle these up for desert without the guilt of knowing i'll be living off it all week and it means less expense on ingredients at the supermarket check out.

MAC 15 PAN EYESHADOW PALETTE.

uk-beauty-blog
Despite the lack of make up and skincare related post's on this blog I am a huge lover of all things beauty and have slowly over the past year I have built up quiet a hefty selection of Mac eyeshadows. One of the most popular posts here on the blog are my Mac Lipstick Collection therefore I thought you guys might enjoy a peep inside my Mac palette! I love everything about this palette and despite the hefty price tag to complete, the fact you get to personally select every single shade and build it up over time once you have the palette and insert makes it a little bit like a beauty Pokemon, you just gotta fill them all.

DIY: EMBROIDERY HOOP JEWELLERY DISPLAY.

If you are anything like me then you like to have a place for every single thing you own. This includes jewellery despite already having boxes of the stuff lying around I had no where to store my brooches and liked the idea of displaying them. The original idea came when I saw embroidery hoops with fabric in them displayed to create a gallery wall and thought that they would be a perfect solution to my jewellery storage woes.
