DIY: NEON OMBRE VASE.

Today I have a super quick and easy DIY to share with you. You only need 3 things to make this vase and it literally takes a single minute to complete so you have no excuses not to try this one at home!

This little DIY is a great way of adding some colour and personality into your home and costs a fraction of the price of genuine ombre glassware. I chose to use Rustoleum neon pink spray paint as I already had it in my craft stash and love the way ombre looks when using neon paint but I do not doubt that this concept would work with any colour. Vase wise I just picked up a couple of cheap and cheerful Ensidig vases from Ikea as I love the milk bottle shape and the fact that they can be used in so many different ways.

First step is to prepare the area you are working on, whether that means giving the area a clean or putting down some paper to protect the surface. Next up you need to wrap the masking tape around the top of the vase to ensure that no spray paint contacts this area. Once you have fully masked the top of the bottle you need to turn it upside down so that the base is now the top. Now that your vase is in position and ready to be sprayed you need to shake up your spray paint and then start in the centre of the vase before slowly working your way out. You will notice when doing this that the paint lightly works its way down the side of the vase creating a subtle ombre effect. When you are happy with the opacity of the colour leave to dry for at least 24 hours before removing the masking tape and turning the vase the correct way round. If you find that any paint has happened to go onto the part you wanted to keep clear you can remove the paint with white spirit but be very careful doing so.

I told you this one was an easy one! Do you reckon you will try this one out for yourself? As always if you do please make sure you tweet me @ladylikelen as I would love to see your version!
