<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With warmer weather and later nights the season of summer has lots to enjoy. I'm talking festivals, summer holidays, beach trips, picnics and BBQs galore. Summer traditionally is a season for spending time out and about with friends and family but that doesn't mean your home should be forgotten in the warmer months. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Despite living in an apartment and not having a garden (balconies are a god send by the way) summer is one of my favourite seasons within my home. The rooms are brimming with light, colours shine brighter and stronger than ever before and flowers adorn every surface. With my final summer in my home drawing to an end I am trying to take in every detail before my new journey begins. Therefore when <a href="https://www.oceanfinance.co.uk/loans/homeowner-loan.asp">Ocean Loans</a> got in touch and asked me to get involved with their Summer Polaroid Project I jumped at the chance. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The premise was simple, capture my home in a way in which celebrated summer with the use of the <a href="http://www.johnlewis.com/fujifilm-instax-mini-8-instant-camera-with-10-shots-of-film-built-in-flash-hand-strap/p2103211">Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Camera</a>*. Long term readers will be aware of my love for Instax photography, being that I already own the <a href="http://store.digitalrev.com/product/fujifilm-instant-camera-instax-210/OTg0Nw_A_A?googlebase=1&country=GB&gclid=CjwKEAjwuo--BRDDws3x65LL7h8SJABEDuFRRsQ0-cOx4rPQal-YjnZUf4_w2wVG4ByFda_AXQhjfRoCGE_w_wcB">Fujifilm Instax 210</a> and the <a href="http://www.johnlewis.com/fujifilm-instax-share-sp-1-mobile-photo-printer-with-10-shots/p2163307?sku=234552529&s_kwcid=2dx92700012702360390&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=COH1lYXI5s4CFdOTGQod7doNDw&gclsrc=ds">Fujifilm Instax SHARE</a>. I was super exited to get my hands on the adorable little mint camera as soon as it arrived and got to taking some snaps as soon as the sun made its way through the clouds, english summer problems. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As I mentioned above, my home is full to the brim with flowers and houseplants come the summer month so I decided to focus on these mainly and then throw in a few snapshots of my home decor for when i'm old and grey and want to get all nostalgic over my first home. I happily snapped around my apartment till my tenth film was taken and then sat back and eagerly waited for them all to fully develop. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am so pleased I got the opportunity to be involved with this project as those little photos do really mean a lot to me and I know for a fact are something I will cherish in years to come. Printing photos is cool guys and Instax cameras are even cooler, get on it! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Oh hey, long time no blog! Before I get into the nitty gritty of my latest home wear additions I just wanted to make a quick apology for the unplanned absence in this corner of the internet over recent weeks. As some of you may be aware, I am now back working for Lush Cosmetics which obviously takes up some time and I am firmly in the limbo that is planning on moving home. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It's kinda funny, cause I'm actually super content with life right now. More so than I have been in quite some time, yet my blog, which was always my main source of happiness has completely taken a back seat. Now this annoys me greatly as it was never my intention to go so long without posting on here I've just been feeling creatively stunted. Moving is the main reason for this, more so the fact that we plan on completely renovating a 3 bedroom house, which means that in my head I am constantly in planning mode and picturing how I want things, leaving very little room for craft projects and the little things that I love to make so much. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I guess what I am trying to say here is, please just bear with me. Once we finally move, which should be no later than late autumn by the way, I am going to really get my teeth stuck into the project and share all the joys and perils of renovating a 100 year old home with you. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TDQNsaShnYQ/V6sGqCGfCzI/AAAAAAAADHo/8_geMVS47hgGo1hJtdm13Tz9b78SF66cgCEw/s1600/wayfair2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TDQNsaShnYQ/V6sGqCGfCzI/AAAAAAAADHo/8_geMVS47hgGo1hJtdm13Tz9b78SF66cgCEw/s1600/wayfair2.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Right, now lets get back to basics and share some of my latest home wear additions with you. In recent weeks my original <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2016/01/the-workspace-tour.html">workspace tour</a> has been getting a lot of love from Pinterest so I thought that it was about time I updated you on some of the new bits and pieces that have joined the party. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The biggest and most important change for me was the wall clock. For ages I have always used the screensaver on my Macbook as a clock but there is just something about having real life ticking clock in a workspace that pleases me greatly. I went for the <a href="http://www.wayfair.co.uk/World-Class-Convex-Wall-Clock-KA5580-OXE1628.html">Karlsson Convex Wall Clock</a>* in black and it's the perfect size and aesthetic for my minimal yet sometimes messy workspace. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up we have a wastepaper bin. Which when you think about it is actually kind of hilarious to mention in home decor blog post but any workspace without one is majorly failing! I learnt this the hard way, after every single DIY project or craft endeavour I would undoubtably be left with a little pile of rubbish and nowhere to put it. The only reason I didn't have one is I never found anything I liked. That was until I found the <a href="http://www.wayfair.co.uk/Round-Waste-Paper-Bucket-23738-AICK1487.html">Wicker Valley Waste Paper Bucket</a>* anyway and finally had somewhere to throw my scraps of paper... it's the little things. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The other thing that I have switched up since my workspace tour is the way in which I store some of my stationery supplies. I still have those draws full of papers, paints etc but I wanted something more practical than a pen pot to keep my everyday items displayed on my desk. So when I came across the beautiful copper <a href="http://www.wayfair.co.uk/Kavali-Box-KB0201-NKU1402.html">Kavali Decorative Box</a>* and realised that it would be perfect to store my pens, pencils and bulldog clips I snapped it up straight away! </div>

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1YLuy8yt8-c/V2p2VOfv6qI/AAAAAAAADGQ/YJ23v-Y88N0ERDZ2L4Irl3J2Xq50aXrRgCLcB/s1600/IMG_9722.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1YLuy8yt8-c/V2p2VOfv6qI/AAAAAAAADGQ/YJ23v-Y88N0ERDZ2L4Irl3J2Xq50aXrRgCLcB/s1600/IMG_9722.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Up until recently I would never have considered myself to be a breakfast kinda girl. I love a good brunch of a weekend but I would often find myself skipping breakfast in favour of an extra 5 minutes in bed most mornings. I put this down to the fact that plain old toast and sloppy cereal don't really appeal at the best of times let alone first thing in the morning. However since mixing up my breakfast options and adding in some tasty treats I have been fully converted to the breakfast bandwagon. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Since stepping away from the processed cereals and boring bread I have been making the time to get a bit more experimental with my breakfast choices. I mean, it's only fruit and yoghurt so I've hardly revolutionised morning eating here but it's a pretty big deal if you are an avid breakfast avoider like I was. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Not only does this sunrise breakfast yoghurt taste great but I genuinely notice such a difference in my energy levels after having had this for breakfast as apposed to toast or thin air. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
YOU WILL NEED:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
400g strawberries, 4 passion fruits, 4 TBSP runny honey, 500g natural yoghurt and 4 TBSP granola. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
METHOD:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Purée half the strawberries with 1 TSP of water in a food processor or blender. Scoop out the passionfruit pulp and add it too the coulis. Sweeten to taste with a little honey if necessary. Layer up in a glass or jam jars; some sliced strawberries, yoghurt, coulis and honey repeating until all of the ingredients are used up. Finish with granola and then serve! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This recipe serves four therefore is a great one for families or can just be cut down to create an individual portion. What I love the most about these breakfast yoghurts is that you can change them up so easily. Use a flavoured yoghurt such as coconut and layer up with chunks of pineapple and top with desiccated coconut for a tropical twist or even add some crushed nuts and dried fruit to the top instead of granola. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As always, if you try this recipe out for yourself make sure you <a href="https://twitter.com/ladylikelen">tweet</a> me and let me know your thoughts! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rIFGFlxmdJg/V1rIJ79rXvI/AAAAAAAADGA/l0aPkoYbuzUTiB7m3Mz_IBMD2-7tjyRfQCLcB/s1600/thelushhaul.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rIFGFlxmdJg/V1rIJ79rXvI/AAAAAAAADGA/l0aPkoYbuzUTiB7m3Mz_IBMD2-7tjyRfQCLcB/s1600/thelushhaul.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Today I am back with a very well overdue Lush haul. I recently finished off my collection of bath bombs that had been hanging around since Christmas so I knew that it was inevitable that a little splurge was bound to happen. There where a couple of items that I knew straight off the bat that I was going to repurchase along with some slightly different products that where just calling my name.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
It has also just dawned on me that I am yet to inform you, my beloved blog readers, that I am actually back working as a Sales Assistant at Lush Cosmetics on a permanent basis! If you follow me on social media you may have noticed my good news and unfortunately the lack of posting that has coincided with the new job. This is something I plan to rectify once I get a little more settled into a routine as it really does not sit well with me producing so little blog content when I still love it so. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
Let's start with the product that actually made this haul happen. The <a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/gorilla-perfume/smugglers-soul">Smugglers Soul</a> body spray, a product that I had completely overlooked during my time working for Lush over Christmas. It wasn't actually until we had our Father's Day training and I was introduced to the new shampoo bar, facial scrub and multipurpose cream of the same scent that I truly began to fall for this scent. All you really need to know is that if you have a penchant for soothing sandalwood you will fall madly in LOVE this! Please, next time you're in store, take a second and give this one a sniff. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next up we have the forever repurchase product, the <a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/rub-rub-rub">Rub Rub Rub</a> shower scrub. Without sounding horrendously melodramatic and over the top, I ran out of this last week and literally couldn't wait to get ahold of another pot. This sea salt based scrub does absolute wonders for my skin and is something I just cannot live without when the sun comes around and you begin getting your pasty limbs out. I've even converted the boyfriend onto loving this so now we go through it at an astonishing rate. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The next two items are actually for the aforementioned boyfriend. The <a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/dirty-springwash">Dirty Springwash</a> shower gel and <a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/outback-mate">Outback Mate</a> soap. Neither of which he has tried before but after 7 years of dating I know his taste pretty well and these uplifting minty scents are totally up this street. Dirty Springwash is a great multipurpose products for lazy boys like mine as it can be used to wash both body and hair and leaves the skin feeling invigorated. The Outback Mate is easily within my top 3 solid soaps and is always worth a try if you like uplifting refreshing scents thanks to the beautiful Eucalyptus oil. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now onto the bombs. The <a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/new-products/lava-lamp">Lava Lamp</a> bath bomb went straight into my basket no hesitation necessary. This is actually a new addition to our Peterborough store but one that you may have picked up already from the Oxford Street store. As soon as I smelt this triple whammy of Sicilian mandarin, tangerine and orange flower I was in love. The other bomb in my stash is the calming classic <a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/big-blue">Big Blue</a>. I actually made this bomb at work when we had some left over ingredients from one of the bath bomb kits and I cannot wait to loose my mind for an hour or so in this super relaxing soak. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Last but by no means least we have the <a href="https://uk.lush.com/products/rose-jam">Rose Jam</a> bubbleroon. Those of you that read "<a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/10/the-first-of-many-lush-hauls.html">The first of many Lush hauls</a>" will be well aware of my love for the Rose Jam shower gel that comes out exclusively at Christmas. Sad times are ahead though my friends as I only have a few drops of shower gel left meaning that I have to get my Rose Jam fix in another form. These bubbleroons are just adorable and the fact that they allow me to get my Rose Jam fix all year round is a blessing. The creamy centre makes for an extra moistening bath and the subtle pink waters make me one very happy lady.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JntYnA4MZwE/VwJuvh4K-SI/AAAAAAAADD0/7_zWh0IjrkQYmv6pHeJZps9aEuGjGpaOQ/s1600/signature.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="58" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JntYnA4MZwE/VwJuvh4K-SI/AAAAAAAADD0/7_zWh0IjrkQYmv6pHeJZps9aEuGjGpaOQ/s320/signature.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
PS. You can read part one <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/10/the-first-of-many-lush-hauls.html">here</a> and part two <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2016/01/the-lush-bath-bomb-bubble-bar-haul.html">here</a> if you're also a totally Lushie like me! </div>

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K7pC01zusmw/V0bhPDKtZtI/AAAAAAAADFw/i2CeJivpy8wcMzVENnQt7s68WxAUmTMqQCLcB/s1600/bloomandwildpeonies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-K7pC01zusmw/V0bhPDKtZtI/AAAAAAAADFw/i2CeJivpy8wcMzVENnQt7s68WxAUmTMqQCLcB/s1600/bloomandwildpeonies.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I freaking love flowers. I'm not sure when my love first began to blossom but it's growing at an astonishing rate and is showing no signs of wilting any time soon. Can we just take a quick moment to enjoy all of those botanical puns in that last sentence?! Sorry, I aint sorry. Some of you may remember that around this time last year I wrote a blog post called <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/06/5-house-plants-that-even-you-cant-kill.html">5 house plants that even you can't kill</a> and in a similar vein I wanted to share a few tips with you on how to get the best of your blooms. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First things first is to start with the selection of your flowers. It is always handy to remember that if the flowers are already fully open you are buying them at their peak. Consider buying them when they are still in tight buds or just beginning to flower if you want them to last for as long as possible. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once you get your flowers home it is time to prep your materials. I tend to do this by washing my chosen vase to ensure there is as little bacteria a possible, whacking out my sharpest pair of scissors and then getting a small jug of room temperature water. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Prepping flowers takes time but it's totally worth it if you want the very best from your blooms. Start by removing any damaged parts and cleaning off as much dirt as possible. It's also important to trim any flowers/foliage that lay below the water line as this will help to stop your flowers disintegrating so easily. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
Once your flowers are all clean you need to make 2 cuts to the stem. First, cut the tips on the diagonal and then make a second cut up through the centre of the stem. Think of this as maximising the surface area by which the stem takes up water - hydration is key!<br />
<br />
Now for the fun bit, creating your arrangement. I personally prefer lots of small bunches, like in the photo above, apposed to one large bunch but thats totally up to you. To start I tend to create the arrangement in my hand by using odd numbers and mixing together contrasting colours.<br />
<br />
Once you have settled on an arrangement check the water level at least every other day and replenish or change the water if necessary. It's also worth while removing any deteriorating foliage and re-trimming the stems if they go a little bit mushy.<br />
<br />
When it comes to choosing the perfect spot for your blooms remember to keep them in a cool, draft free place out of direct sunlight. I love having them on entry tables in a hallway to greet you when you arrive home or scattered across side tables to add a little oasis to the space.<br />
<br />
For anyone wondering, these beautiful peonies are from <a href="https://www.bloomandwild.com/">Bloom & Wild Flower Delivery</a>. </div>

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZQ32sCrOwrA/Vz24pIl2n8I/AAAAAAAADFg/BPhzo1-Zhu0nrIxT9hAnXylRegdMp2n-wCLcB/s1600/darkandspiceycocktail.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZQ32sCrOwrA/Vz24pIl2n8I/AAAAAAAADFg/BPhzo1-Zhu0nrIxT9hAnXylRegdMp2n-wCLcB/s1600/darkandspiceycocktail.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For a long time now I have been wanting to incorporate more drinks recipes into my blog. The problem was however that I'm not a huge alcohol lover, meaning that I was pigeon holed into just featuring coffees and smoothies. However things have changed over the past few months since broadening my spirit repertoire and I have found myself falling back in love with a cheeky cocktail to mark the end of a busy week. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I plan on sharing lots of new cocktail favourites over the upcoming months in a series of blog posts called the Cocktail Hour, so I hope that you are ready for some seriously boozy inspiration just in time for the British BBQ season. I might even include a few mocktail recipes along the way as this really isn't something purely alcohol lovers should get to enjoy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
One of my favourite spirits of the moment has to be black spiced rum, especially <a href="http://www.krakenrum.com/">Kraken</a>. Rum has always been a winner in my eyes but the spiced, almost caramel flavour of this one takes my love to the next level. Typically I would drink this with some regular Coca-Cola and ice but I was feeling a little a fancy a couple of weeks back and decided to try some simple cocktails using my beloved Kraken rum. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After a spot of trial and error I found absolutely everything that I was looking for in the aptly named, Dark N Stormy. The "Dark" being the double shot of spiced rum and the "Stormy" being the spicy ginger beer. Garnished with wedges of fresh lime and lemon served over plenty of ice this beauty goes down an absolute treat and is easily my go-to tipple of the moment. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This recipe is so simple and easy to make that even a child could make it, obviously though you need to be of legal drinking age to be able to enjoy this one. Never the less two ingredient cocktails should not be overlooked in turn for your fancy 10 something spirits that'll leave you on the floor after a few sips. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As always, enjoy and please let me know your thoughts if you try this at home for yourself!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F2ZQ3mBWid0/Vynb2ER3KcI/AAAAAAAADFQ/B7vjiXnlhSUTnRzFiFTaa-fN6HqeVO67wCLcB/s1600/POLAROID3000.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F2ZQ3mBWid0/Vynb2ER3KcI/AAAAAAAADFQ/B7vjiXnlhSUTnRzFiFTaa-fN6HqeVO67wCLcB/s1600/POLAROID3000.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I always have been and always will be a huge advocate for printing photos, whether they be candid snaps from your phone or from special events like the wedding of one of your nearest and dearest. Frequent readers will also be aware of my love for instant photography, something I got into from going through countless Polaroid snaps from my parents youth. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In my time I have owned quite a selection of cameras including a vintage 1970s Polaroid camera as well as the more modern Instax instant camera and even the <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2014/08/fujifilm-instax-share-smartphone-printer.html">Fujifilm Instax</a> smartphone printer. I love them all dearly but I had to sadly part ways with my vintage Polaroid when they stopped creating the instant film a few years back and the price for film just became unattainable to me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So as you can imagine, when the lovely people at Cheerz got in contact with me to tell me about their latest product, a collaboration with Polaroid, I quite literally squealed with excitement! I already love that Cheerz allow you to print photos directly from your phone/computer but now having the option to get photos printed in the traditional Polaroid style with the iconic glossy paper and embossed look excited me greatly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.cheerz.com/en/products/polaroid-3000">The Polaroid 3000</a>* allows you to print 18 of your best photos for just £15. As I haven't been taking as many photos recently and I just knew that these prints would be something to cherish I decided to pick a selection of photos from my best friends wedding and gift them to her instead. I decided against adding the specially designed Polaroid filter as these where all professional images but I do love the cheeky little hint of Cheerz with the coloured backs and adorable box to store them in. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As I brought my friend a beautiful wedding scrapbook for her birthday (which was actually on the same day as the wedding) I instantly knew that these would be a perfect addition to it. There is not many other photographs more special than that of your wedding day so I thought that they would be a perfect fit. And I must add that the quality of these prints did not disappoint. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you have some snaps waiting to be printed I highly recommend checking out <a href="https://www.cheerz.com/en">Cheerz</a> and their vast selection on printing options, especially the Polaroid 3000. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This week is National Stationery Week. Any frequent readers will be well aware by now of my penchant pencils and ongoing lust for lists. Since my school days I have always revelled in buying new stationery. Once upon a time I thought that I might grow out of it, but since discovering the likes of Kate Spade stationery and the wonder that is kikki.K my love just continues to grow.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To mark the occasion that is National Stationery Week I thought that it would be fun to put together a little list (I told you I love them), of some of my go to stationery suppliers. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>1. <a href="http://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/kate-spade-new-york/home-tech/home/books-stationery/">KATE SPADE</a>.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have got a whole lotta love for this brand. I have been a huge fan of the brands stationery range for a long time now, however it wasn't the middle of last year where my undying love was sealed when the boyfriend brought me the Kate Spade 17 month spiral agenda. I wrote all about it <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/07/kate-spade-17-month-spiral-agenda.html">here</a> if you want the full low down but all you really need to know is that it brought my diary/agenda dreams to reality. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>2. <a href="http://www.kikki-k.com/?gclid=Cj0KEQjwo_y4BRD0nMnfoqqnxtEBEiQAWdA12zagM6notr4XPQJrsEiGT7COkzeKe7kaA6V9kWUWCXUaAgdU8P8HAQ">KIKKI.K</a>.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This one is a much more recent addition to my stationery love list yet one that have quickly climbed the ranks! To be honest with you, they are hands down my favourite brand right now, I am all sorts of obsessed with their minimal Swedish design and the broad range of products they sell. From diaries to calendars, pens to pencils and stamps to stickers they have everything a stationery lover could possibly want. The <a href="http://www.kikki-k.com/wedding">wedding collection</a> is also so beautiful in you're in the market for some wedding invites. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>3. <a href="http://www.paperchase.co.uk/">PAPERCHASE</a>.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The old classic that is Paperchase. When they first hit my high street I was besotted, however in the years that have past I am not such a huge fan of the collections they release and tend to just stick to the <a href="http://www.paperchase.co.uk/cards">cards and wrap</a> these days. There is the odd notebook that melts my heart but on the whole I tend to not branch out from the gift wrap that often unless I am on the hunt for some specific art supplies. Always worth a little look around on your lunch break though.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>4. <a href="http://oldenglishprints.com/">OLD ENGLISH COMPANY</a>. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Since stumbling across this brand on Instagram I have fallen head over heels with their array of stylish <a href="http://oldenglishprints.com/collections/prints">typography prints</a> and <a href="http://oldenglishprints.com/collections/cards">greeting cards</a>. I love a good font and positive quote so it doesn't really come as much of a surprise that these products are so up my street. I also really love the fact that they are all manufactured in the historic town of Stamford, literally 20 minutes down the road from me! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>5. <a href="http://shop.nouvelledaily.com/">NOUVELLE DAILY</a>. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Before it's days as an online stationery shop this used to be one of my favourite reads on the internet. Not gonna lie, I was kind of sad to see it disappear from my Bloglovin feed but since relaunching as a stationery shop I have not been left disappointed. The range of <a href="http://shop.nouvelledaily.com/collections/washi-tape">washi tapes</a> makes my heart skip a beat and there is a huge selection of beautiful prints to adorn your home with on top of that. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There we have it, my go to stationery suppliers!<br />
<br />
After putting this post together I am experiencing some stationery haul lusting on a whole other level. There are just too many adorable notebooks and prints in this world for me to try and resist. I think it is fair to say, expect a stationery haul coming this way very soon.<br />
<br /></div>

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-35ThjNp7-kU/VuF4DmlnuLI/AAAAAAAAC_w/gf_BNbfaL7E/s1600/kitcheninspo.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-35ThjNp7-kU/VuF4DmlnuLI/AAAAAAAAC_w/gf_BNbfaL7E/s1600/kitcheninspo.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have previously touched on the fact that I will be moving home later this year and since then my mind has been consumed with all things decor, especially kitchen decor. For years I have been pinning photos of dream kitchen on <a href="https://uk.pinterest.com/ladylikelen/kitchens/">Pinterest</a> and I am beyond excited to be able to finally bring my vision to life. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In my current abode the kitchen is pretty damn small being that it is an apartment and all. When I first moved in here at the age of 18 I wasn't really phased as my cooking abilities maxed out at pesto pasta but since then my love for cooking has grown tremendously, leaving me longing for a kitchen big enough to spread my creative wings. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As it stands at the moment we are currently planning on moving around August, however the boyfriend and I have already spent time looking around all of the local kitchen showrooms and I have a pretty good idea of what sort of look I am aiming for. My taste is typically monochrome with splashes of colour and this will certainly be reflected in my kitchen choices. I'm kind of obsessed with dark navy/black cabinets with brass hardware but until we are properly in the space its hard to judge how these things will look. I am also partial to a spot of open shelving and industrial style lighting as seen above. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The thing is though, I am actually planning on taking down the wall between the current kitchen and second living room/dining room to create an open space living/kitchen area with the main living room remaining untouched at the front of the house. Sounds simple enough to anyone with home renovation experience but I'm a bit of a noob on the subject being that my only home to date was brand new and had everything done prior to me moving in. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am scared, I am apprehensive but most of all I am super excited. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I honestly cannot wait to start knocking down walls and completely customising the space to our needs. Over the next few weeks I intend to share more inspiration posts for the specific rooms that will be getting hit first. I also plan on documenting the whole renovation process here on the blog so get ready for lots of home inspo coming your way towards the end of summer. Exciting times ahead guys! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
It has been a while since I last shared a recipe post with you guys hasn't it? There is no reason for this other than the fact that over the past couple of weeks I have only really been baking vintage recipes that can already be found here in the <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/search/label/food">Food</a> category. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This week however the sun has finally started to break through the miserable grey clouds and give us all a well needed vitamin D pick me up. The start of a new season is always an inspiring time for me so I thought it was about time that I tried my hand at something new and after coming across this recipe for a delicious lemon tray bake with a layer of crisp buttery shortbread topped with an oozy lemon custard layer baked to a crisp meringue like texture, finished off with some juicy raspberries I just had to give it a go!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>YOU WILL NEED:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the base: 125g butter, 50g caster sugar & 150g plain flour. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lemon layer: 3 eggs, 310g caster sugar, 1 TBSP grated lemon zest, 120ml lemon juice & 75g plain flour. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To decorate: 140g of fresh raspberries & icing sugar. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You will also need a 20cm/8-inch square cake tin, greased and lined with baking paper. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WsCutLVAN1c/Vw4iCTxOvsI/AAAAAAAADEs/Quqig78j2CMPdnTa9CIcbQG8YThTWUEfgCLcB/s1600/TRAYBAKE.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WsCutLVAN1c/Vw4iCTxOvsI/AAAAAAAADEs/Quqig78j2CMPdnTa9CIcbQG8YThTWUEfgCLcB/s1600/TRAYBAKE.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>METHOD: </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) Gas 4.<br />
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Start by making the classic shortbread base. Place the butter and sugar into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment (or use an electric whisk and a large bowl) and beat on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until blended. Add the flour and bring the mixture together to make a soft dough. Carefully push this dough into the tin to make a smooth, level base, taking it very slightly up the sides of the tin. Place into the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To make the lemon layer, place the eggs, sugar, zest and juice in a large bowl and, using a whisk, gently mix the ingredients together until smooth. Using the same whisk, add the flour and blend into the mixture until fully incorporated. Pour this mixture onto the cooled base and place back into the oven to bake for 40-45 minutes until the lemon layer is set and the top is a golden brown colour. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the tin. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once cool, run a knife around the edge and, using the lining paper, lift the traybake out of the tin onto a serving plate. Arrange the raspberries over the top of the bake and finish with a light dusting of icing sugar. Cut into small pieces and enjoy!<br />
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I originally wasn't planning on creating any Easter content this year as neither my partner or I really celebrate it, not even with Easter Eggs... seriously! However I failed in my self imposed mission to avoid Pinterest over the past week and ended up seeing so many cute Easter themed DIYs that I just had to try my hand at one. I'm also a huge sucker for cute pastel colours and bunnies so I ended creating this adorable Easter bunny bunting with pompom tails to adorn my workspace. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
HOW TO:<br />
Start by printing out your Easter bunny template (linked above). Of course you could quite easily create your own but for the sake of speed and ease I decided to print mine. Once you have your template you then need to cut around the bunny and then draw around it onto the back of some pastel coloured card. I managed to fit all 6 bunnies on one sheet of A4 card by the way. Once all 6 bunnies have been drawn simply cut them out with scissors and pop them to one side.<br />
<br />
Next up I made the mini pompoms to look like bunny tails. To make pompoms I would usually use my <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2014/09/diy-pompoms-made-easy.html">pompom maker</a>, however in this case we need mini pompoms so these wouldn't work. To make the mini poms I actually used a kitchen fork and just wrapped the wool around the fork as you would a regular pompom and then tied a string around using the gap in the fork before pulling the wool off the fork and cutting it to release the pompom, here is a step by step <a href="http://www.taradennis.com/Kids/pom-pom-garland.html">example</a>.<br />
<br />
Now that you have 6 mini pompoms and 6 pastel Easter bunnies you need to attach them together and then pop them on some thread. To attach the tails onto the bunnies I used hot glue as it is super quick and sturdy. Then to attach the completed bunnies to the metallic thread I simply used a small amount of sellotape on the back of each bunny to keep the front nice and clean.<br />
<br />
I am so pleased with how this Easter bunny bunting turned out, the adorable little pompom tails just make me smile! So much so that I am contemplating making some more bunnies and sticking them onto some blank cards to share the bunny love this Easter. Whilst you are here, not check out some of my previous Easter DIY's <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/03/diy-hand-painted-easter-eggs.html">here</a>, <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/03/diy-easter-cake-toppers.html">here</a> and <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2014/04/diy-easter-cake-with-spring-bunting.html">here</a> for a little extra inspiration?</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Inspiration is a funny thing. Some days we have ideas shooting all over the place and then the next day we are essentially pulling ideas out of our arses trying to make something work. As someone who has studied Art and ran a creative blog for many years now I know just how hard it can sometimes be to keep coming up with fresh and exciting ideas. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I for one have felt that my brain has been totally clouded over the past month or so, I touched on the reason in my <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2016/03/life-lately-no2.html">Life Lately No.2</a> post at the beginning of the month. I just feel that at the moment my mind is consumed by all things moving home, leaving little room for the creative things. In an attempt to conquer this I have been pushing myself to step outside my box a little to find some much needed inspiration.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>1. NEW PLACES & SPACES. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My biggest tip for finding inspiration has to be to visit new places. I'm not necessarily talking about jumping on a plane and travelling half way across the world, even though that would totally work, I am talking more about discovering new places, things and people around you. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>2. GO BACK TO BASICS. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A big thing for me that always helps to get the creative juices flowing again is to simply go out and use my camera purely for the fun of it. I will put my hands up and admit that 99% of the time my camera only gets put to use for this here blog and with that I can sometimes forget the joy that comes from simply capturing whats happening around you. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>3. BE TRUE TO YOU. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Every now and then when I am seriously lacking in inspiration and ideas I like to sit down and write down all the things I enjoy and love. From there I can take vague ideas like home decor and develop them into something new and exciting which will drive me to creating something I really love. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>4. TRY NEW THINGS. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This applies to everything and anything. Why not try a new recipe that you've never attempted before? A home project you've been putting off for months? Learning a new craft or skill? This is something that I am a huge advocate for and something that I without doubt shall be doing this bank holiday weekend. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>5. LET IT GO.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Last but by no means least, letting shit go. We all know that sitting down and wracking your brain for ideas just does not work. Move on to another task, especially menial housework, and you'll be surprised at the random trails of thought that come into your mind that can then later develop into some fantastic ideas. These organic ideas also tend to be the best. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There we have it, my 5 tips on how to stay inspired. Now all I have to do is to continue practicing what I preach and hopefully I'll manage to get my head back the game sooner rather than later.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Today I am sharing something with you that is quite possibly one of my favourite little DIY/life hacks to date. It truly is the little things that please me and with this being something that combines two of my favourite topics, DIYs and beauty this one was always bound to be a winner. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
As you guys know, I spent a few months working for <a href="https://uk.lush.com/">Lush</a> towards the end of last year and one of my favourite products (besides the bath bombs and bubble bars obviously) where the <a href="https://uk.lush.com/search/site/lip%2520scrub">Lip Scrubs</a>. They are a product that I have actually used for years, a true staple in my beauty arsenal come the winter months as I have never found anything as effective at removing dead skin whilst adding a hit of moisture. Despite my love for these products are they can be a little bit on the pricey side with one pot costing £5.50 for 25g, which in itself isn't too bad but I never actually manage to use up one of the pots before they start to dry out meaning that I'm essentially throwing away money. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
However much I recommend these products I thought that it would be fun to try and make my own so after a quick glance at the ingredients list I went to my kitchen cupboards to see what I could find and come up with. After a little trial and error to get the consistency right I was left with a pot of moistening lip scrub to rival my old time favourite. To make your own... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
YOU WILL NEED:<br />
5 TSP <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tesco.com%2Fgroceries%2Fproduct%2Fdetails%2F%3Fid%3D252528727">Caster sugar</a>.<br />
3 TSP <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tesco.com%2Fgroceries%2Fproduct%2Fdetails%2F%3Fid%3D260259031">Organic honey</a>.<br />
A splash of <a href="http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=253497323&epi=skim72835X1521883X474c438721017756063e69f18aef3e4c&sc_cmp=aff*nt*gmo*Skimbit+UK_1503186&utm_medium=gmo&utm_source=tradedoubler&utm_campaign=aff*Skimbit+UK_1503186">Vanilla extract</a>.<br />
1 x <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=lip+balm+pots&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Alip+balm+pots">Lip balm pot</a>. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
HOW TO:<br />
This could not be any easier, simply combine all of the above ingredients into a small jar and mix before decanting into your lip balm pot. You can pick these up online if you fancy making a few variations or as gifts for friends but for just one pot I recommend looking through your beauty supplies for an old sample pot and just give it a thorough clean before use. Simply store in a cold dark place to keep it fresh for as long as possible and then just re-make once it starts to dry out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
I have been testing this lip scrub out for a few days now and I am happy to report that the caster sugar has done a fine job at exfoliating my lips and the honey is surprisingly moisturising, if yes a little sticky. All in all I am super happy with my little kitchen beauty hack and can finally whip out my beloved Ruby Woo lipstick once more. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
PS. To make this product vegan just pop in some coconut oil instead of the honey to moisturise the lips.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do you remember about 6 months ago when I started a new series called <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/08/life-lately-no1.html">Life Lately</a>? Yeah, well it's been a while hasn't it! The whole intention of these blog post's where to keep you guys updated on me and my life in between my various craft projects and unhealthy bakes. Anyway I thought that it was about time I got my arse into gear and updated you all on the going on in my world.
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Let's start with a biggy. I think the time may have finally come for me to say goodbye to my apartment and move into a proper house. Around this time last year I was dead set on moving but the houses that I liked, within the area that I wanted to live in, did not quite match my budget. With that the idea moving out of my beloved 2 bed apartment into a scruffy as hell terrace house that needs a tonne of money throwing at it to make it work just wasn't floating my boat. However, circumstances have since changed and there is a strong possibility that a spot of house swapping could be on the cards for the not so distant future.<br />
<br />
Another thing that I have been doing over the past few weeks is making the effort to take time out to relax. I always seem to struggle around this time of year, I'm not sure if it's just the crappy weather or the bunch of unhappy anniversaries that occur around this time of year effecting me. Either way, it sucks. So with that I have been taking a lot more time for myself and making sure to put myself first instead of running around after others like a headless chicken. This means lots of Lush baths and quiet time getting lost in record or TV series. Talking of TV, I highly recommend checking out <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03g13rt">The Night Manger</a> or <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03kbqgf">Thirteen</a> if you're on the hunt for some new TV shows to binge watch this weekend. And remember, self love is important.<br />
<br />
Other than the above the only other thing that has really stands out to me over the past month or so was watching one of my best friends marry the love of her life. It was the first wedding of a friend that I have ever attended, the rest being family and such, and it was honestly so lovely to see someone you love be in so much love. I definitely feel like its opened my eyes to weddings in a way I had never seen them before, either that or I am officially a proper adult now and all the love has finally cracked my jet black heart.<br />
<br />
I feel that now is as good a time as any to wrap this post up. I promise not to leave my life updates so far in between next time and hopefully I shall be sharing my moving home tales with you by then! I am so excited to see what the next few months throw at me. Come at me 2016!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BEiAKOiS6ik/VthZz537RGI/AAAAAAAAC-k/Xzhxf2X0AH0/s1600/diycaketopper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="uk-diy-craft-blog" border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BEiAKOiS6ik/VthZz537RGI/AAAAAAAAC-k/Xzhxf2X0AH0/s1600/diycaketopper.jpg" title="diy-celebration-cake-topper-silver-glitter-star" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I feel that I have been seriously slacking on the DIY front recently which is actually kind of surprising considering they're hands down my favourite post's to work on. I guess I have just been lacking inspiration and imagination as of late. With this Sunday being Mother's Day in the UK I thought that this would be the perfect occasion to get my creative juices flowing again. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Long term readers of my blog will be aware that my mama is no longer around to be spoilt on Mother's Day but this doesn't stop me from making a fuss of the boyfriends mum, especially as it is her birthday the day after! I decided that rather than making something strictly for Mother's Day I would make something that can be used for any celebration, from birthdays to weddings and beyond. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've got previous for rustling up my own DIY cake toppers which can be seen <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/search?q=cake+topper">here</a> if you're interested but they always seen to be pretty theme specific so I thought that these adorable glitter stars would be a great all occasion cake topper.<br />

YOU WILL NEED:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hobbycraft.co.uk%2Fduck-tape-silver-glitter-47-cm-wide%2F610664-1001">Silver glitter Duct Tape</a>, wooden stars, toothpicks and a <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hobbycraft.co.uk%2Fblack-hot-melt-glue-gun%2F609537-1000">hot glue gun</a>. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
HOW TO: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are honestly so simple to make, so simple in fact that you could easily make them with children as long as there is an adult to supervise or step in for the hot glue gun parts. To start cut a square of the adhesive silver glitter Duct tape and attach it to your wooden stars. I picked the stars up at Christmas from <a href="http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/">Hobbycraft</a> but some stiff card would work just as well, you'll just have to freehand cut your stars instead! Once the tape is stuck to the stars simply cut around them to reveal a glittery silver star. Once you have done this to all of your stars you need to turn them into cake toppers. To do this place a small amount of hot glue onto the back of the stars and then roll a toothpick in the glue before positioning in place and leaving to dry for about half an hour max.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are hands down my favourite DIY cake topper to date. I love the fact that they can be used for so many occasion unlike the previous cake toppers that I have made. I also really like the fact that the wooden stars make them a lot more sturdy and means they should withstand a lot more uses too. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I guess that now I'm firmly into my mid 20's it was kind of inevitable that more and more of my friends would begin getting married. I am writing this blog post up in advance as today is actually one of my best friends wedding day's and I've even got another one lined up for the summer already. With this in mind and this new phase of my adult life ahead of me I decided to step up my game and spend some time looking for and researching some of the best wedding gifts on the market.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
I thought that it would be fun to put together a little collage of my favourite wedding gifts under £50 and share my findings with you guys, just in case anyone is in the same boat as me and all of a sudden faced with the challenge of buying the perfect wedding present!<br />
<br />
<b> <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfridges.com%2FGB%2Fen%2Fcat%2Fdiptyque-benjoin-scented-candle_342-2000170-BJ1%2F" target="_blank">DIPTYQUE BENJOIN SCENTED CANDLE</a>.</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>1.</b> Just because everyone loves a luxe candle right? They make ideal gifts as understandably not everyone is willing to drop £40 on a candle. However when it comes to a gift for a special occasion they are something that can be enjoyed by both and make a wonderful addition to the home.<br />
<br />
<b> <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfridges.com%2FGB%2Fen%2Fcat%2Fle-creuset-pink-salt-mill_292-80012728-96002000227%2F" target="_blank">LE CRUSET PINK SALT MILL</a> <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfridges.com%2FGB%2Fen%2Fcat%2Fle-creuset-pink-pepper-mill_292-80012728-96001900227%2F">AND PINK PEPPER MILL</a>. </b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>2.</b> Here we have a much more traditional style of wedding gift and something that is not to be overlooked. Le Cruset make some of the best kitchen wear and these amazing pink ombre salt and pepper mills are just too cute not to be taken into consideration. Costing £25 each they are not cheap but they will last a lifetime and thats something important to consider when buying a wedding gift.<br />
<br />
<b> <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.notonthehighstreet.com%2Fkokoblossom%2Fproduct%2Fmr-and-mrs-pillowcases">KOKO BLOSSOM COUPLES MR & MRS PILLOWCASES</a>. </b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>3.</b> These are my favourite of the budget gift options, costing £25 for the pair and available in Mr & Mr as well as Mrs & Mrs they would be a welcome addition to any newly weds bedroom. I adore the black piping around the edge which makes them look much more expensive and the font is lovely too.<br />
<br />
<b> <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfridges.com%2FGB%2Fen%2Fcat%2Fbialetti-espresso-maker-four-cup_244-3003543-20001164%2F">BIALETTI ESPRESSO MAKER</a>. </b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>4. </b>Following along with the home wear theme I decided to pick the four cup espresso maker from Bialetti. I just love the classic Italian design and costing £32 this is the perfect gift for any coffee connoisseur couple who enjoy a cheeky espresso before work or after dinner in the evening.<br />
<br />
<b> <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfridges.com%2FGB%2Fen%2Fcat%2Fcharbonnel-et-walker-pink-and-milk-marc-de-champagne-truffles-650g_5050-10141-MILKPNKCHAMTRUFF650%2F">CHARBONNEL ET WALKER PINK AND MILK MARC DE CHAMPAGNE TRUFFLES</a>. </b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>5. </b>Now these are a real luxe treat if you fancy spoiling the couple in question. Everyone loves chocolate, no matter what the occasion, but these pink and milk Marc de Champagne truffles take chocolate to the next level. This gorgeous box will set you back £50 but there are smaller options available to suit any budget.<br />
<br />
<b><a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.selfridges.com%2FGB%2Fen%2Fcat%2Fthe-white-company-fine-silver-photo-frame-3-x-3-_770-10121-SIHFF%2F">THE WHITE COMPANY FINE SILVER PHOTO FRAME</a>. </b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>6. </b>Finally I thought that I would wrap things up with a classic wedding gift. Silver has always been commonly given as a wedding gift for obvious reasons, precious metals and all that. I thought that this simple yet elegant silver frame costing £25 would be lovely modern way of gifting silver as well as being a beautiful piece to pop a favourite snap in after the nuptials.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I originally wanted to title this post "how to get your shit together and be a proper adult" but I felt that that may not be the best for a broader audience. Despite the different title the premise is still exactly the same so today I am going to share my top 5 tips for organising your life and generally getting your shit together. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This year marks 8 whole years since I moved out and went at it alone in the big wide world. In a recent conversation with a friend I mentioned the fact that I am only 2 years off a decade of fending for myself and just how honestly I am quite impressed with myself that I've managed to keep myself alive, with a roof over my head, food in the fridge and bills paid for and up to date for such a long time. I'm not quite sure where the hell that time went or how I managed to get here but I have a few essential tips that have helped me become a semi-decent adult human being that might help a few of you too! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>WRITE EVERY SINGLE THING DOWN.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For me this mean endless notebooks and planners but you can interoperate this as you will. Just make sure that you make a note of everything important, whether that be appointments or when your council tax is due. Having everything down in front of you not only allows you to keep track of where you are in the month, as well as what needs doing, but it is also a great way of keeping on track and organised. For those of you that are less stationery savvy there is no excuse on loosing track of things as there are seriously so many apps out there these days let along the good old trusty notes. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>LEARN TO PRIORITIES. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is something that goes hand in hand with the above point. Once you know exactly what is expected of you that week/month you need to start prioritising. For me this involves lists and a lot more notebooks but in all honestly it's quite simple to do, just write down everything you need to get done and then pull the most important tasks to one side and concentrate on them before moving onto fun tasks like wrapping so and so's birthday gift and focus on what really needs to get done.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b> GO DIGITAL. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm not talking about watching Youtube or Netflix here, I mean get all of the boring utility bills set up as a direct debit to come out of your bank account the day after you get paid, that way you can just sit back and let the digital world do all the hard work for you. This also goes for bank accounts, if you don't have an app on your phone to access you bank balance by now where the hell have you been? All those little treats you pick up on lunch/at the weekend do add up so make sure you keep track of these via an app before you are left short and living off baked beans on toast for the last week of the month. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>DEEP CLEAN. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Seriously, deep clean. As a teenager I obviously knew about throwing the hoover about and wafting a duster around but I was totally unaware of all the nasty jobs that you are completely unaware off when you are younger. Trust me, do not wait until your cupboards are sticky or you can barely see out of your windows. Set up a system in your diary where every quarter of the year or so you take a day and deep clean every single thing you own. Sounds dull and yes it is but unless you want your home to end up looking like something on one of those hideous cleaning shows on the TV you will appreciate it in the long run. Don't believe me? Do the bare minimum and come back to me in 6 months when your oven is thick with grease and setting your fire alarm off every time you cook!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>GIVE EVERYTHING A HOME. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When I first moved out I had about 5 boxes of belongings to my name, mainly clothes, DVDs and books. 8 years later now and I have essentially filled my entire 2 bedroom apartment and own more shit than I ever thought possible. Worst part is, I'm not even a messy of cluttered person but as a functioning adult I am now the owner of my very own wall paper stripper and power drill. My point is, even in the most minimal of homes you need to make sure everything has its place. Even if that means throwing things out as new things come in. Everything in my home has its place and not only does this make life ten times easier when trying to find things but it also means I won't become a hoarder of things that haven't seen the light of day in the past year. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So there we have it, my top 5 tips for an organised life/being a real adult. If you have any additional tips please feel free to pop them in the comment section below as I honestly find things like this super interesting and would love to hear some tips and tricks from your point of view. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You all know the drill by now, any celebration is an excuse for me to go over the top on the gift wrap and Valentine's Day is no exception, what a lucky boyfriend I have! He may not necessarily appreciate the fluffy pink pompoms on his Valentine's gift however he does appreciate the time and effort I spend putting it all together therefor the pompoms will continue.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
It is just two days until Valentine's Day and despite all of my love themed post's over the past couple of weeks it has really creeped up on me this year. Maybe the fact that it falls on a Sunday is whats throwing me off? Regardless, I always find that Valentine's Day can be an awkward one when it comes to my favourite thing about celebrations, the gift wrap. There really is no point going out and buying an entire roll of gift wrap covered in tiny pink hearts unless you've seriously gone to town on the gifts that year. Meaning that the only real options are gift bags/boxes or individual sheets of gift wrap.<br />
<br />
In my eternal quest to spend as little as possible I always like to have a quick browse on the internet before hitting the high street and this time I seriously came up trumps! I managed to stumble across some gorgeous free printable gift wrap on the <a href="https://www.forthemakers.com/posts/valentines-day-printable-gift-wrap" target="_blank">For the Makers</a> website. As soon as I set my eyes on the matchstick gift wrap I knew I had found the one and instantly downloaded it and hit the print button. Obviously the majority of us will only have a standard A4 printer in our homes meaning that downloading free gift wrap from the internet would not work on supersize gifts but for the small little gestures of love they are perfect option and something that should not be overlooked.<br />
<br />
Once I had my paper printed I had a quick rummage around my craft supplies and pulled out loads of pink threads, some adorable lip stickers and pink pompoms. I decided to go all out on the love theme and did not break from pink or red once which is very unlike the inner goth in me but I think it really works. I mean, if you can't cover something in pink hearts and lips on Valentine's Day when the hell can you?!<br />
<br />
I hope that this post has given you a little last minute Valentine's Day gift wrap inspiration or at the very least opened your eyes to the world of free downloaded gift wrap, it's golden!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is finally Pancake Day and quite easily one of my favourite days of the year. I personally indulge in pancakes all year round but I like to go that extra mile on Pancake Day and today is no exception. The pancakes you are looking at are actually the ones I had for breakfast this morning and I have to tell you, this is possibly my favourite topping combination yet! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Blueberry pancakes have always been a firm fave but this time I decided to pimp my pancakes out a little bit with help from some delicious blueberry compote, layers of blueberry natural yoghurt and a drizzle of honey. If you are looking at these pancakes thinking yep, that's what I want for dinner today you are in luck as I have included the recipe down below for you. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1_fDotnsP6I/VrnKfG6xZUI/AAAAAAAAC7s/Dmbko7B_fnQ/s1600/pancakes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1_fDotnsP6I/VrnKfG6xZUI/AAAAAAAAC7s/Dmbko7B_fnQ/s1600/pancakes.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
YOU WILL NEED:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the pancakes: 3 eggs, 115g plain flour, 1 TSP baking powder, 140ml milk and a pinch of salt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the compote: 2 cups frozen blueberries, 3 TBSP water, 1/4 cup sugar and 2 TSP of lemon juice. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will also need some honey and Liberte blueberry yoghurt to layer between each pancake. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
METHOD:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lets begin with the pancakes. Start by separating the eggs. Once your eggs are separated you need to add a pinch of salt to the egg whites and then whisk until white and fluffy, I recommend using an electric mixer for this just to make the process a little easier. Next you need to combine the egg yolks, flour, baking powder and milk and mix into a thick batter. Now fold the egg whites into the batter - making sure not to knock out all of the air you created whisking them! Once your batter is complete heat up a frying pan with a little oil and use a large spoon to create even pancakes. Once air bubbles start to form in the pancakes they are ready to flip and then just need cooking for a further few minutes before serving. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now we go onto the blueberry compote. Simply combine 1 cup of frozen blueberries, water, sugar and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Cook over a medium heat for 10 minutes before adding in the other cup of blueberries and cooking for a further 8 minutes, make sure to stir frequently. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Finally start stacking your pancakes with a layer of yoghurt in between each layer. Once you get to the top cover with a large helping of blueberry compote before drizzling a little honey for extra sweetness. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I honestly cannot express to you in words just how good these pancakes are. With the addition the of thick creamy blueberry yoghurt and the delicious blueberry compote you are in for a serious treat with these bad boys. I hope that you enjoy and as always if you do try this recipe out for yourself let me know your thoughts or tweet me a photo <a href="https://twitter.com/ladylikelen" target="_blank">@ladylikelen</a>. </div>

<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Yw4vyyczpFA/Vrh22msgskI/AAAAAAAAC7A/z1ZwyoifcFI/s1600/IMG_8873.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Yw4vyyczpFA/Vrh22msgskI/AAAAAAAAC7A/z1ZwyoifcFI/s1600/IMG_8873.JPG" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cannot believe that today, the 8th of February 2016, marks 3 entire years since I sat at this Macbook and wrote up my very first blog post. In a similar fashion to last year I wanted to quickly take a moment to look back on the past year and commemorate the fact that I stuck at this jam for another whole year. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The past year has been a pretty big year for me both in terms of this here blog and in my personal life. I feel that my confidence and positive attitude have grown remarkably and I hope that is something that translates across to this blog. I genuinely no longer compare myself to others or beat myself up over the fact that those pictures weren't as good as I had hoped, I just scrap them and move on. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The funny thing is, in being less of a perfectionist I have actually doubled the content I was creating in previous years as well as engaging with a lot more readers. Of course I will always try my best, in everything that I do, but realising that it's okay not to be perfect all the god damn time has been strangely liberating. At the end of the day this space on the internet is a reflection of me and I by no means am perfect so why would I pressure myself to be so online? Sharing things online is pretty scary, whether that be your latest bake or something very personal about your life, you put yourself out there for judgement and I think that breeds the need for perfection. This year more than any previous years I am going to leave that behind me and just focus on creating things that I want to share with you all. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This year I want my blog to continue to be me and not some perfectly polished online magazine. I want to continue to work with brands but maintain my integrity in everything that I work on. I want to try new concepts and new things. Maybe even try my hand at a little DIY video for Youtube? You never know. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lastly, I would just like to quickly say thank you to anyone that is currently sat here reading this. It doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things in this world but it means the world to me.</div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NVXQJ1Ir4Zo/VrCauBPOmyI/AAAAAAAAC5M/1Z3vCDQot78/s1600/diycookie1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="diy-valentines-gift-idea-friends" border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NVXQJ1Ir4Zo/VrCauBPOmyI/AAAAAAAAC5M/1Z3vCDQot78/s1600/diycookie1.jpg" title="diy-cookie-in-a-jar" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After sharing my <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2016/01/diy-valentines-photo-display.html" target="_blank">DIY Valentine's gift</a> for loved ones this time last week I thought that it would be fun to come up with something special for the other important people in your life, whether that be your family or friends! Continuing along the theme of hand made gifts I decided to go down the edible route this time round as everyone loves food and homemade treats are infinitely the best. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Rather than simply whipping up a batch of double chocolate cookies and delivering them to a friend I decided to create a little DIY cookie in a jar. You essentially just layer all of the dry ingredients into a large air tight jar and then leave the rest up to the recipient. Simply attach a gift tag with the instructions such as add 1 egg, 200g of butter and a splash of milk along with the baking time/temperature. To make my DIY cookie in a jar a little more Valentine's Day themed I decided to add this adorable gift tag which is actually a free download from <a href="http://www.wayfair.co.uk/Inspiration/DIY-Hampers-Valentines-Day-Gift-Tags-E10451" target="_blank">Wayfair.co.uk</a>, all you have to do is download the free gift tags, print them onto some A4 paper before cutting them out and punching a hole at the top. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you fancy spoiling a friend this Valentine's Day with a DIY double chocolate cookie in a jar the recipe is as follows. Of course you could just make them yourself and gift them that way if you prefer! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UISjQUA4Mlg/VrCkZb8TkhI/AAAAAAAAC6A/Ui3vUy8_8-s/s1600/111.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="diy-valentines-for-friends-lovers" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UISjQUA4Mlg/VrCkZb8TkhI/AAAAAAAAC6A/Ui3vUy8_8-s/s1600/111.jpg" title="diy-double-chocolate-coookies-in-a-jar" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
INGREDIENTS:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
200g unsalted butter, 300g caster sugar, 1 large egg, 275g self raising flour, 75g cocoa powder, 200g of chocolate and a splash of milk. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
METHOD:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start by mixing the butter until it becomes lighter in colour and softer in consistency. Once the butter is ready you can add all of the dry ingredients such as the flour, sugar and cocoa without worrying about sifting. Once that is all combined simply add in your egg and a splash of milk to loosen the mixture. You will now have a delicious cookie dough and all you need to do at this point is add is the chocolate. For the DIY I chose to use chocolate chips purely because they look nicer in a jar but I've used broken up bars of chocolate before and it works just as well. Now your cookie mix is finished simply place a sheet of baking paper on a tray and start portioning up your cookies. This mix will make roughly 12 large cookies as seen in the photo above or roughly 24 small cookies. Now all you have to do is pop them into a pre-heated oven at 220°C for 10 minutes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This recipe is absolutely fool proof and you end up with some seriously delicious double chocolate cookies, crunchy on the outside but still gooey and delicious in the centre. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you remember back in October when I posted <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/10/the-first-of-many-lush-hauls.html" target="_blank">The First Of Many Lush Hauls</a>? Well, today I am back with another round up of all things Lush and this one is solely dedicated to bath bombs and bubble bars. For years now, long before even working for Lush, I have always been a huge fan of the bath range and to be honest, there seriously aren't many products that I haven't tried so I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my personal highlights of the beloved bath range. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lets start with the bubble bars as I only have two of those to mention today. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First up we have everyones favourite bubble bar, <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fcomforter-0" target="_blank">The Comforter</a>. This guy is full to the brim with cassis absolute which gives it its distinctive blackcurrant fragrance along with some uplifting notes of bergamot. The website recommends breaking this in half to get two uses but I can easily get about four baths out of this guy, just crumble into your hand and then straight under the tap for a bath full of beautiful pink blackcurrant bubbles. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up we have a limited edition Valentine's Day bubble bar in the form of this multicoloured <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fvalentines-day%2Funicorn-horn" target="_blank">Unicorn Horn</a>. I am actually yet to try this one out for myself, however I remember people going mad for this one this time last year and anything lavender fragranced will always be a winner for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Moving onto the bath bombs I'll start by saying that all of the ones I am about to mention came within <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fover-ps30%2Fexperimenter" target="_blank">The Experimenter</a> gift set which I received for Christmas. However I have actually already used <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Ftwilight" target="_blank">Twilight</a>, a lavender and tonka fragranced bomb with a blue centre and <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fbath-bombs%2Fintergalactic" target="_blank">Intergalactic</a>, a peppermint and grape fruit fragranced bomb that creates a galaxy of colours and glitter in your tub. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My main reason for wanting this gift set was for the two Lush Oxford Street exclusives which cannot be purchased individually in local stores. They are the Cyanide Pill, which seems to have vanished from the Lush website, which has a strong citrus and woody fragrance which also contains a serious amount of silver glitter in the centre. The other is the <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fbath-bombs%2Fguardian-forest" target="_blank">Guardian Of The Forest</a>, which has similar scent to the Cyanide Pill in the sense that it is very woody with a lime kick, delicious! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up we have <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fbath-bombs%2Fexperimenter" target="_blank">The Experimenter</a> bath bomb which is hands down the most colourful of all of the Lush bath bombs. With 5 vibrant colours and a splash of popping candy this one looks incredible in the bath however the fragrance of vanilla, tonka and vetivert oil is not my favourite. I have even gone as far as describing it as a bonfire scent in the past, my bad. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Moving on we have <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fbath-bombs%2Ffrozen" target="_blank">Frozen</a>, a shimmering blue bath bomb with a silver lustre centre. This one is probably one of my favourites despite never actually watching the film Frozen. For me its all about the beautiful grapefruit and rose fragrance that lingers on the skin for hours. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Lets cover a classic next, the one and only <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fsex-bomb" target="_blank">Sex Bomb</a>. The name of this one seems to divide people but I for one am all for a little Tom Jones reference! This one has a beautiful floral scent thanks to all the jasmine absolute and ylang ylang oil and is one that I have repurchased many times. For me it is a classic indulgent bath and the colours are lovely too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Sticking with the classics next up is <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Favobath" target="_blank">Avobath</a>. As the name would suggest this bath bomb is packed with hydrating and nourishing avocado, combined with my favourite bergamot oil and lemongrass oil which pack a serious punch. When people come into the store and ask what product they could smell from the street it was always this bad boy. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Drawing to an end we have <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fdragons-egg" target="_blank">Dragons Egg</a>, another uplifting lemon and bergamot fragrance that smells just like lemon sherbet. That amazing scent combined with some popping candy and a beautiful golden orange core leave you with easily my favourite bath bomb, especially great for a morning/afternoon pick me up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Last but by no means least we have <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fuk.lush.com%2Fproducts%2Fbath-bombs%2Fyoga-bomb" target="_blank">Yoga Bomb</a>. This is another serious contender for my all time favourite bath bomb thanks to its sandalwood oil and cassis absolute fragrance. It's one that I always recommend if you are in need of a little calm and relaxation and even though this guy doesn't look like much from the outside I promise you it will not disappoint. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There we have it, an almighty Lush bath haul. Please let me know your favourite bath bomb/bubble bars in the comment section below as I would love to know which ones you adore too?! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Without sounding like a complete and utter cliche, where the hell has the past month gone? I cannot believe that Christmas was over a month ago now and it is already the end of January this week. January coming to an abrupt end does mean one thing though, Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I have quite the busy February full of birthdays and a best friends wedding so I thought I best get on Valentine's Day early to ensure that my loved one still get something special. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This will be our 7th Valentine's Day together and as I have mentioned in previous Valentine's Day post's we are kinda over the whole taking special trips away or dropping over £100 on a fancy meal thing. Instead of flashing the cash we decided to make Valentine's Day a little more personal and in turn, a lot more special. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Gift wise this year I wanted to continue my tradition of making something for my special someone. So when the guys from Cheerz got in touch with me regarding their new products, the <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cheerz.com%2Fen%2Fproducts%2Fstrips-love" target="_blank">Love Strips</a>* and the <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cheerz.com%2Fen%2Fproducts%2Fcheerz-box-love" target="_blank">Love Cheerz Box</a>* I thought that they would be the perfect start to my DIY Valentines gift this year. Once I had decided upon which photos I wanted to print I went on a hunt through my workspace and craft supplies to see what ideas I could come up with. This was when I came across some unloved <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.notonthehighstreet.com%2Fnkuku%2Fproduct%2Fkiko-glass-frame" target="_blank">Kiko Glass Hanging Frames</a> that had been waiting for me to find a new use for them since giving my workspace a revamp, if you would like to know more about the frames I blogged about them before <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2014/07/kiko-glass-picture-frames.html" target="_blank">here</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once my photo's arrived I got straight to picking out my favourite images and arranging them with a mixture of cards and craft supplies until I was happy with the layout of each of them. For reference, pretty much everything within the frames is from various A Beautiful Mess Messy Box's which I have also spoke about <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/05/messy-box-unboxing.html" target="_blank">here</a> if you're interested. Once I had my photos and decorations in place I simply used some blu tac to hold everything in place and voila! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am actually so pleased with how these frames came out and I don't doubt for a second that the boyfriend will be suitably impressed with my efforts this year. To be completely honest, he probably would have been happy with the Love Cheerz Box filled with our favourite memories but I just couldn't help myself and just had to come up with a creative way of using them. </div>

I almost cannot believe that I am finally sitting down to write this blog post! I started my workspace makeover over 6 months ago now and despite not needing to redecorate or do anything drastic it seemed to take forever to get all the pieces I wanted together. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a very specific plan and look in mind and I am really not the sort of person to compromise when it comes to interiors so things took a little longer to come together than I had originally planned. However this weekend I picked up the final piece of the puzzle and now here I am few days later finally getting this post written up for you!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I guess we should start with the main pieces of furniture first. The table is the <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ikea.com%2Fgb%2Fen%2Fcatalog%2Fproducts%2FS69929643%2F" target="_blank">Linnmon/Adils</a> table from Ikea which is a really great affordable desk that ticked both my double desk and all white requirements. I do plan on replacing the legs on this at some point as they are quite cheap looking but thats a whole other post for another day. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Underneath the desk I have the 5 drawer <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ikea.com%2Fgb%2Fen%2Fcatalog%2Fproducts%2F00261295%2F%23%2F10192824" target="_blank">Alex</a> unit in white, also from Ikea, to provide easily accessible storage for all my craft supplies and to help divide the desk into two specific working areas, a craft area and more traditional laptop/computer area. I also have the 9 drawer <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ikea.com%2Fgb%2Fen%2Fcatalog%2Fproducts%2F50192822%2F" target="_blank">Alex</a> unit on the other side of my office with additional storage for craft supplies and my ever growing make up collection. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next up we have the <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.my-furniture.co.uk%2Feames-style-white-dsw-eiffel-chair.html" target="_blank">Eames Style White DSW Eiffel Chair</a> from My Furniture. These clearly are not original Eames chairs, these guys are a fraction of the price for the look and I don't have to be ridiculously paranoid about getting black paint or something on a real designer piece of furniture. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Above the designated craft area I decided I wanted some additional storage for my supplies as well as somewhere to display some of my favourite DIY projects. I decided to go with a shelf from <a href="http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/" target="_blank">Ikea</a> which they no longer seem to stock, sorry about that. What initially drew me to this shelf unit besides the look was the fact that it only required 4 screws into the wall which is always a bonus for such a large shelving unit. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
One of my favourite things in my workspace is the wire memo board, which in fact is a <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.co.uk%2Fgp%2Fproduct%2FB00UVPQOP4%3Fpsc%3D1%26redirect%3Dtrue%26ref_%3Doh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00" target="_blank">4ft Mesh Heavy Duty Grid Wall</a> for shop displays. Rather than buying an overpriced wire memo board I decided to give this ago instead and its everything I was looking for. I simply use <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.etsy.com%2Fuk%2Flisting%2F252861474%2Fnatural-wooden-mini-craft-pegs-wood%3Fga_order%3Dmost_relevant%26ga_search_type%3Dall%26ga_view_type%3Dgallery%26ga_search_query%3Dmini%2520wooden%2520pegs%26ref%3Dsr_gallery_5" target="_blank">mini wooden pegs</a> or <a href="http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=72835X1521883&xs=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.etsy.com%2Fuk%2Flisting%2F237066123%2Fblack-wire-bulldog-clips%3Fga_order%3Dmost_relevant%26ga_search_type%3Dall%26ga_view_type%3Dgallery%26ga_search_query%3Dblack%2520bulldog%2520clips%26ref%3Dsr_gallery_2" target="_blank">bulldog clips</a> to attach the photos. I don't currently have it attached to the wall as I like being able to remove it at ease for blog photos but simply leant against the wall it looks great. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The rest of the pieces are all things that I have picked up throughout the years. The mint lamp was one I picked up a few years ago now from John Lewis. The light up J initial was picked up from a local independent store and the rest is mainly H&M Home or Urban Outfitters. I have written a few post's on specific things featured on my desk which you can read more about here, the <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/10/home-decor-light-it-up.html" target="_blank">BHS Wire Lamp </a>and the <a href="http://A few things such as the wire light which I wrote about here or the Kate Spade journal ." target="_blank">Kate Spade Journal</a> for example. There is even a couple of DIYs on display if you'd like to read more on them, <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/03/diy-hand-painted-cactus-pots.html" target="_blank">Hand Painted Cacti Pots</a> and the <a href="http://www.ladylikelen.co.uk/2015/08/diy-quick-easy-customised-clipboard.html" target="_blank">DIY Customised Clipboard</a>. </div>
