NEW IN: PARTY SUPPLIES.

With my 25th birthday just one week away my thoughts have recently been centred around birthday celebrations. Turning 25 is not a special birthday and I am hardly one for all the attention that birthday parties bring. This year however I have decided to step outside of my comfort zone and host my very own little cake and tea party to celebrate the occasion.

As it is to be just a small celebration with a handful of my favourite people I quickly came to the conclusion that I did not want to spend too much money on decorations. Luckily enough, I am the sort of wierdo that buys paper honeycomb balls with no specific plans for using them. As they are a beautiful dark mint colour my colour scheme for the rest of the decorations came from there, a mixture of mint, gold, marble and white.

Being that I am bit of hoarder and the fact that they are some of my favourite colours I had a quick whip around my apartment to see what other bits and bobs I could repurpose for the event. I have thrown in my gold pineapple for a bit of fun and think that my old DIY vintage tea cup candle fits the theme perfectly. I also have a gold garland that I might hang up depending upon weather or not I can untangle the damn thing! The countdown is also on to find a candlestick holder to accommodate the amazing gold dip dye candle but I am sure a quick scout around the local charity shops will save me once again.

The only things I have actually brought new specifically for the event are the napkins and marble paper cups/plates which I surprisingly picked up from H&M home. I also picked up the gold acrylic sparkling cake topper from Ginger Ray and some extra paper straws from Amazon. A girl can never have too many gold striped paper straws right?

To finish things off I intend to pick up some giant gold number balloons a little closer to the time and thats it really. Topped off with lots of homemade yummy treats and even the odd cocktail in a teacup I think that this will be one of my favourite birthdays to date. Roll on next week!
