LOMOGRAPHY POP 9 CAMERA.

uk-lifestyle-blog

Once upon a time, way back in 2007, I used to study photography at college and have always had a little bit of a thing with collecting cameras. Of course in the modern world that we live in majority of the photographs that I take are digital and I have no problem with that, I love my iPhone and Canon as much as anyone but theres something about film that a digital camera just can't quite achieve. With that in mind over the years I have built up quite a camera collection and today I wanted to share with you the latest member of the family, the POP 9.

Despite film being a traditional form of photography this camera is by no means traditional. With the cameras mirrored gold finish and a total of 9 lenses to say I was intrigued is quite an understatement. Combined with Lomographys description of the camera being able to transform everything around you into an explosion of pattern repeating pop art I couldn't help but purchase it and wait in anticipation of its arrival. When it arrived I nipped into my local Poundland to pick up some good old 35mm film and quickly got snapping. Above you can see an example of one of the photographs I took on my first trial run with the camera and I love the results. Although I do think that it is important that if you do buy this camera or a camera similar that you make sure that you keep the subject very close up and try and pick things with bright vibrant colours to achieve a pattern on the final image. Some of my images just looked like 9 tiny photos whereas the up close brighter coloured imaged definitely achieved that pop art pattern I was looking for.

What do you think of this 9 lens camera? If you would like to fall in love with the POP 9 like I have you can pick it up from the Lomography shop for £39.

  1. I've got the Diana Mini and I've always thought lomography was a cool and experimental way to try out photography. The Pop 9 is an interesting idea, though I'm not sure I'm brave enough!
