If in doubt, get the books out. That is what I do every single time I find myself lacking a little in inspiration and these are my top 3 book that I turn to for getting the creative juices flowing!
PAPER TO PETAL: The newest member of my bookcase yet already a firm favourite. This book pretty much encapsulates my love for all things paper and all things floral. With over 50 different flowers to make using a broad range of materials this book seriously changes the way you look at paper and craft supplies in general, I seriously cannot look at my craft draw without seeing all the amazing floral decorations that could be created from all those left over odds and sods. I can already see this book inspiring many a future blog post and even creeping its way into my home decor (who doesn't want paper flowers covering their house?). £12.43 via Amazon.
STATE OF CRAFT: The ultimate how-to craft book. Every time I find myself in a knitting pickle or in need of a crochet refresher I always pull this gem out of my bookcase. Full of easy to follow instructions and illustrated with simple images this book is the perfect resource for anyone interested in craft whether they be a knitting newbie or a bonafide crafting god. Besides knitting this book also covers how to make, hard backed books, jar lamps, garlands, crochet collars and novelty items such as animal ears. £10.32 via Amazon.
DOMINO THE BOOK OF DECORATING: Since purchasing my own home 5 years ago I have been consumed by all things decorating and interior design. This book is ideal for anyone looking to update their space and is absolutely full to the brim with photographs of peoples beautiful homes. Along with all the visual inspiration this book provides there are also loads of helpful information on how to, select a theme for the space, mix and match furniture and even covers the finishing touches in dressing your home. £11.10 via Amazon.
There you have it! My go to inspiration stations. What books do you turn to for inspiration whether that be decorating or cooking? I'm always on the look out for books to fill my bookcase with so your recommendations would be highly appreciated.
wow, what a great book list! I actually haven't read any of those, but I've now reserved them at my library (it's a pretty awesome library, they get just about everything you can buy in a book store). I can recommend Style Statement, which was a great book on figuring out what defines your style. But if you are already very clear on you personal style, might not be worth it!
