THE LAWRENCE ON MICKLEGATE, YORK.

After a couple of stressful months for both the boyfriend and I we decided we where both in desperate need of a holiday and a few days of fun and relaxation. Instead of traveling abroad like we would normally do we decided to stay in the UK and see what the country we call home had to offer us. After a few hours of scrolling the internet we decided a city break would be the best idea as you can never rely on the British weather and even if you are gifted with sunshine the UK hardly has the tropical beaches with crystal clear waters you get else where in the world. So with this in mind we concentrated our hunt on cities and York was pretty much the winner from the get go, renowned for its exquisite architecture, quaint cobbled streets and a wealth of visitors attractions we decided this would be perfect for our little venture, rain or shine. I am not going to lie to you though, the nail in the coffin when it came down to our decision was most certainly the accommodation!

Located within the picturesque city walls of York lies The Lawrence on Micklegate, conveniently located just a few minutes walk from the train station and a mere step away from the city centre. The Lawrence offers 14 different 4 star apartments ranging between 1 bedroom studio apartments for solo visitors to 3 bedroom apartments for families or large groups of friends. These apartments truly offer you all you could possibly desire on a visit to the historic city of York and even have a coffee shop full of local delicacies and refreshments. We opted to stay in apartment 6, a 1 bedroom apartment with an open plan living room and dining space with French windows which overlook the courtyard. The apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with a king size bed and a bathroom with combined bath and shower. Overall the apartment has a very contemporary feel and is situated on the first floor of an old industrial building. Prices vary depending on the apartment in which you decide to stay in but purely for reference the apartment we rented costs £120 - £125 depending on which day of the week you decide to stay. Booking could not be easier, simply book via booking.com or directly through The Lawrence website.

Yes, not the cheapest option out there I know but if like me you are looking for something special for just a few nights away with a loved one in York this apartment is the one for you. I personally prefer to stay in apartments when traveling as its nice to not to feel confined to one room and having the option to cook your own food/wash your own clothes is always a bonus if you are a bonafide housewife like me and actually enjoy cooking your own meals as well as eating out. I have stayed in a few apartments similar before in different parts of the UK but hands down this is the nicest that I have ever stayed in. I truly could not recommend The Lawrence on Micklegate enough if you are taking a trip to York!

Do you now want to visit York as badly as I did after seeing this beautiful accommodation? Do you prefer apartments or hotels when traveling? Lemme know!
